Meet Your Head Camp Counselor
Hi, I'm Laura, your fabric-loving, you-got-this Sewing Trail Guide. I'm the Founder & CCO (Chief Creativity Officer) of Sew Your Adventure®.
Since Summer of 2018, I've welcomed 100s of kids into a lifelong love of sewing. I am passionate about passing on the love of sewing to the next generation.
And along with sewing skills, there's more: curiosity, courage, creativity, confidence and community. Woven throughout. Character that lasts.
Equipped with a MA in Curriculum & Instruction and nearly 2 decades of teaching experience, I'm here to welcome “but where do I start” new Sewists into a lifetime of imagination, problem-solving and solid foundational sewing skills. In the THE most inspiring, inviting, & exciting way.
As a both a skilled designer and educator, I believe that learning is done best alongside laughter and each other. One step at a time. Celebrating and marking our progress with quick wins.

WHAT SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS ARE NEEDED?
All needed materials are bundled up into 6 advent-style calendar packages. Each provide the exact tools and materials you need to accomplish the sewing mission that day! You simply provide the space to play and create!
DOES MY KIDDO NEED EXPERIENCE?
Not at all! Sew Your Adventure® Camp-in-a-Kit is designed for complete beginners. Each day comes with simple, step-by-step video guidance from Laura. If your child can use scissors and glue, they're ready
WHAT AGE RANGE IS THIS FOR?
Sew Your Adventure® Camp-in-a-Kit is designed is designed for kids aged 6–12. Younger kids may need a bit of help from a grown-up, which makes it a wonderful thing to do together. Older kids in that range will be able to work more independently.
HOW MUCH PARENT PARTICIPATION IS NEEDED?
As much or as little as you want! This was designed as a tool for connection. Our goal is to make this easy for them to understand and execute on their own. If you want to assist, I am sure your little sewist would love the assistance, but if you’d rather be more hands off you totally can be!
HOW LONG DO I HAVE ACCESS TO THE COURSE CONTENT?
Forever. Forever ever? Forever ever! Seriously. We want you to be able to come back to this course to reference any skills you want to continue strengthening.
